“At CMS, I was presented the universe, and everything in it. It was all mine to explore and love. I truly believed that I could achieve anything inside the classroom, outside of it, and beyond it. I was always aware that there was a whole world out there, bigger than me, which affected me, and which I affected as well.”
Amanda Halbach Hughes, CMS alumna and current CMS teacher
“It was such a joy for me to be able to send my children to Chesapeake Montessori School. I remember walking into the late day room – my old classroom – all of the memories came rushing back. It’s amazing how much CMS has grown, but in many ways it is still the same school that I loved as a child. One of the most important lessons I learned at CMS was a love of learning. There were times in my life where I did not reach my goals but I had so much fun trying. Many times, I found a different kind of success along the way: to think creatively, be a loyal friend, a patient mother, teacher, or to be part of a community. CMS gave me the coordinates to set sail and experience life’s journey to finding happiness and success in everything I do.”
