Giving to Chesapeake Montessori School
Chesapeake Montessori School is a non-profit institution and depends on the support and generosity of our families and friends to provide funds necessary to maintain the high standards of our school. As with most independent schools, tuition revenue alone does not cover the actual cost of educating our students. Our commitment to our students and to our mission is fulfilled through a commitment from our community.
CMS is a 501(3)(c) institution so all donations are tax deductible.
Ways to Give to CMS
Annual Fund
Donations to the Annual Fund supports the general operating budget and is the most important way of supplementing the difference between tuition revenue and total operating costs. Annual fund gifts from our families, alumni, alumni families and friends support current educational programs. They also allow us to plan for future growth of the highly respected educational program that has been a hallmark of our school for more than three decades.
Giving Levels:
Founder: $1,500 and above
Benefactor: $1,250 to $1,499
Sponsor: $750 to $1,249
Supporter: $500 to $749
Friend: $250 to $499
Contributor: Up to $249

Federal Workers: Chesapeake Montessori School is an approved nonprofit of the Chesapeake Bay Area Combined Federal Campaign. Federal workers can designate gifts to CMS using code 29628.
Gifts of Stock and Securities
CMS accepts gifts of stocks and mutual funds through our Brokerage Account. Call our Development Office for details.
Employer Matching Programs
Many corporations offer a matching gift program. You may contact your company’s personnel office to obtain a matching gift form and enclose this form when sending your gift to CMS. You will be credited for the amount of your donation plus the amount of the match.
Board of Trustees Annual Event
The Board of Trustees hosts an annual auction to raise funds for the school.
In-Kind Gifts
Non-monetary gifts such as items and services for the Board of Trustees annual auction are welcome and appreciated. Contact our development office at 410-757-4740 to learn how you can help.
Gifts of Time and Talent
CMS has an engaged group of volunteers and is honored by their efforts. Please call if you are interested in volunteering and we will help you find the right way to participate.
