Faculty and Staff
Chesapeake Montessori School has a staff of 21, including teachers, classroom assistants, and administrative staff.
All Montessori teachers at Chesapeake Montessori School were trained at an Association Montessori Internationale center. In order to earn the AMI Young Child (toddler) or Primary Diploma, a teacher must hold a Bachelor's Degree and then undergo a year of extensive training. To earn an AMI Advanced Diploma (for ages 6 to 12) a teacher must study the Primary level and undergo a year of additional study at an AMI center. Most Montessori teachers also hold masters degrees.
